Hello! Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Paty, and I am married to my true to life Prince Charming, Jeremy! We were married March 12, 2005, and it still feels like it was just yesterday! We live in sunny St. George, UT and love it! I am originally from McAllen, TX and moved up here to go to school. I fell in love with the area and decided to make it my home. Trust me, if you want beautiful scenery, this is definitely the place to be.
We've got no kiddos yet unless you count the baby Jeremy made me from Build-A-Bear that we named Stinky Bean. Yah, that's right! I said Stinky Bean. We named her that because I call Jeremy Stinky and he calls me Stinks. (Great pet names, huh?) It only seemed appropriate to keep the tradition going and name her what we did. We put it on the birth certificate and everything! Here's her picture!
And yes...I dressed her up like Cinderella. My favorite Disney Princess! I even wore glass slippers at my wedding. Well, plastic looking things that looked like glass slippers. Here's the proof....
We also have a pet beta fish named King Triton. He's been a very good fish. I'll admit, he's a replacement for two previous fish that we had for three years, but we love him just the same.
About the blog, now. I bet you are wondering how I came up with the name of this blog. Funny story actually. It all started with this sign.

My mother-in-law gave one of these signs to all of the kids one Christmas. When I saw it, I absolutely loved it! I nailed it up above my kitchen window as soon as I got home. Everyone that has seen it gets a kick out of it and thinks it is really cute and humorous. When my mother saw it, she insisted I get one for her, too! Now that she has it nailed up in her kitchen, family that visits her at her house always want one, too! Bless my mother-in-law for constantly having to pick one up for my family members! If you read this, A MILLION THANKS! I'll tell you what, it gets a little difficult packaging these long board signs to ship to Texas.
Anyway, both Jeremy and I really love to cook (a man that cooks? I know...I'm really blessed!), and one day I thought.....Wouldn't it be great to share recipes on a blog?! Great idea, but what would I name it? Then I never started the blog because I couldn't think of anything clever enough. Then one day as I was in my kitchen, I glanced up and the sign caught my eye. The lightbulb flicked on! It was absolutely perfect! Off I went and created this lovely blog. I'm particularly proud of this blog because all of the graphics and designs were made by me with the help of Jeremy. I had previously searched and searched the web for the perfect graphic. I got frustrated because what I imagined in my head was nonexistent, so I decided to draw it myself, and what better graphic to draw than the cartoon versions of Jeremy and me! It actually turned out much better than I had imagined it.
If you haven't figured it out, my favorite colors are baby blue and yellow, and my favorite flowers are daisies, and trust me, if I could have incorporated Cinderella in the design as well, I would have done it. It was a little tough though.....it didn't quite fit in with the theme. All of the photographs of the yummy food are taken by Jeremy with his fancy camera (Nikon D80) that I don't have the slightest idea how to use. He insists it takes much better pictures than my regular little point-and-click. I've got to admit, it's pretty true. He's got a better eye for it anyway!
All of the recipes I have come from cookbooks, friends and family members, and creations from my head. I'm not the greatest at following recipes. I always tend to add or change it a bit to my liking. I'm not an expert at cooking by any means. In fact, some of my creations sometimes turn into disasters, but I think that's the fun of it. Sometimes you come up with something pretty magnificent and that makes it all worth it! If you want to send me a recipe you want to try, feel free! I will only post the recipes I have made and like(no sense in promoting yucky stuff). I will always give credit to whom it belongs to.
Just a note...I hate peas, onions, and tomatoes, so you probably won't be getting much of those in my ingredients unless the peas are from the garden, onions are in the form of powder, and tomatoes are in the form of ketchup or pasta sauce. Yes...I know...I haven't grown up yet. I also really hate seafood. Sorry you seafood lovers! I got lucky because Jeremy and I have pretty much same food tastes. Except I really love Mexican food, and he's not too fond of it, but I guess it is in my blood, so I'll forgive him for that. We both pretty much love to put cream of chicken in about every recipe. Sometimes we really have to resist, but it seems to make everything yummy, especially when you add it to dishes that didn't turn out so well. I just thought of a commercial! A family is eating a disgusting dinner and a cream of chicken fairy comes in and makes everything better with the flick of her wand! Okay, that was really silly. Sorry. I tend to go off on tangents sometimes.
I welcome everyone to visit my blog often. Be sure to comment if you tried or liked a recipe or just want to say hi, and remember...you should ALWAYS kiss better than you cook!
